The strength of Ora & Peler
The strength of Ora & Peler can be determined by the pressure difference (in Hekto-Pascal [hPa]) between Bolzano and Brescia/Ghedi. Ora occurs as soon as Brescia/Ghedi has a higher air pressure than Bolzano. The larger this pressure difference, the stronger the Ora blows over northern Lake Garda. If the pressure difference is reversed, the opposite north wind Peler blows.
In practical terms, when a pressure difference of about -3 hPa is forecasted, we can expect around 20 knots of Pelér.
